Kenyans have reacted with shock and disbelief through various social networks to the news of Alexander Kinyua, a 21-year-old resident of Jappatowne, Maryland and native of Kenya.

Kinyua, a student at Morgan state University in Baltimore, is accused of killing, dismembering and eating body parts of Kujoe Bonsafo Agyei-Kodie, a 37-year-old Ghanaian man who was housed by Kinyua's family.

Sources within the Kenyan community in Maryland have described Kinyua as having been acting unusually erratic the last few months, depicting possible signs of mental and psychological illness.

The murder came just a few days after he was released on bail after being arrested on assault charges. In that case, Kinyua stands accused of randomly attacking and severely injuring a student at Morgan State with a baseball bat and running away into the woods.
